Welcome to Year 3 with Miss Pawson and Miss Timms! 

We use Marvellous Me to communicate, send praise and reminders (speak to Mrs Kelly if you haven't got your log in details). 

Fruit is not provided at break times in KS2, so please send your child in with a healthy snack of fruit or a cereal bar (no nuts).  

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask. We will do what we can to help. 

PE will be every Wednesday afternoon, so please make sure you have the correct kit.

Spellings 

Spelling books are expected to be handed in every Thursday and the following weeks spellings will be put into the books and handed out on Friday. Please ensure that children are remembering to practice, using the spelling strategies learned in class. 

Reading

Children need to read at home at least four times a week for 10 to 15 minutes at a time.  When your child has read, please ensure it is recorded in their reading diary (by you or themselves). Children’s reading records are checked, against this expectation, by Mrs Timms each Thursday morning. 

Please encourage your children to read a range of different genres and for a range of different purposes (as this forms part of their assessment): even if it is reading a bus timetable, reading something online as research or reading an information leaflet– it all counts as ‘reading’.
