Maths:

L.O: to measure volume in ml and l

For our lesson today we will be measure volume in ml and l. Each measuring jug goes up in a 50ml scale with a maximum capacity of 1l which is the same as 1000ml.

To start with answer your ‘In Focus’ question which is on the first page. As we would normally discuss this with our partners at school, see if there is an adult or older brother or sister to talk to about it. Please use the box on this page record your answer and methods.

Next look at the ‘Guided Practice’ which shows you some of the different style questions. I have left the answers on the worksheet so you can see the setting out and how to go about answering these types of questions.

Now it is your turn! Have a go at the ‘Independent Practice’ which is a copy of the worksheet that you would have completed in your MNP workbooks at school.

If you feel up for it, have a go at the challenge! Good luck!

Please could you email this piece of work to me.

English:

L.O: to write a story (day one)

Last week we began looking at creating a new chapter for the story ‘A Tale of Two Roberts’ where Robert and Nita have a big day out. We have written an opening paragraph to explain why they were both so bored and have began to plan the details of what they decide to do and what goes wrong.

Look at the slides where there is a new version of Robert and Nita’s big day out. Read through this carefully to see what is effective as you may want to try and include this in your own story.

For your lesson today and tomorrow you will write up your own version of Robert and Nita’s big day out. You should include, your edited opening paragraph, a build-up, a problem and a resolution.

You have today and tomorrows lesson to do it so please wait until you have checked through it after tomorrow to send it to me.

Reading:

Although we are in lockdown, the expectation is for the children to still read 3 times a week for 10 minutes. Below is instructions and a link to oxford owl where an account has been created to provide the children with some ebooks.

Username: Leighclass3

Password: Book1234

For reading today we will continue to read ‘Maximus Gladiator’ on Fiction Express. If you are unsure of your login, please email me at year3@leigh.covmat.org and I will resend it.

We will read the fourth chapter, ‘Chicken’, so please select this as you open up the book. If you need to remind yourself of what happened previously then you should go back a few pages to reread this. At the end of the chapter, vote on how you think Max should fight the gladiator.

Once you have voted there is an option for you to complete a multiple choice reading quiz. Your task today is to complete this. You can choose between completing it online or downloading it and printing it out. It is useful if you do this online as I have access to view everybody’s answers.

Geography:

L.O: to research fair trade

First read through the slides which takes you through some useful information about longitude, latitude and the tropics. Today we will continue our journey across the world, visiting Jamaica. Look at Jamaica’s climate and how bananas are grown, cultivated and distributed in Caribbean countries.

Look at the next few slides all about fair trade. For your work today you are going to research fair trade. Then produce a poster to persuade people to choose fair trade products when they go shopping.

Please could you email this piece of work to me.

Music:

L.O: to explore 4 beats in a bar

Today’s music lesson will be the next lesson taught by Mr Palekar an Oak National Academy about pulse and rhythm.

You will start off by going over the song from last lesson and then playing some games. The lesson will require lots of singing, clapping and clicking so make sure you are somewhere where you will not disturb anyone!
