Today you need to return your Maths, English and theme work please.

Maths

Miss Thomas’s group – Work through the maths ‘Learn’ sheet about problem solving and then have a go at the questions on the ‘work’ sheet.

Mrs Malone’s group – read the learning sheets and then complete the tasks

English

Miss Thomas’s group – Work through the ‘Instructions and Tasks’ sheet and then complete the tasks.  I have left the writing task as a Word documents, so if you want to delete the lines and type your sentences onto the sheet you can do that instead.

Theme

Today we are starting our new topic of ‘Florence Nightingale’.  Look through the slide show to find out about her and why she is famous.  Then have a go at the task sheet.  Try to write your answers in sentences please.  Remember to think carefully about your punctuation and spellings.

To get to know Florence a little better.  I have found a comprehension exercise for you to complete.  Some of the answers you might know from the topic work.

Have a go at reading the information yourselves.  Sound out any unfamiliar words and only then, if you are stuck, ask your adult for help.  Think carefully about the answers before you write them down.

Daily Reading

Although we are not able to change your books at school every day, you do need to practice your reading skills.  Make time to do 10 minutes of reading with your adults before the end of the day.  I am sure you have plenty of books on your bookshelves.  Let me know if you read any really exciting ones that you think I might like!!
