Maths

Make two sets of number cards 0-10, you can use plain paper, or a cardboard box cut into rectangles. You will need 22 rectangles, write a number on each. There are some cards below to print if you would rather. You now have a set of cards to play the Maths games below. You could even make up your own number game.

Please send in a photo or message to let me know which games you played and who won!

SNAP- you and a partner have half of the cards each and take turns to turn one over-if your number matches, shout SNAP and you win those cards.

PAIRS-lay all the cards out face down. Turn two over to see if they match. If they do not match, turn them back over and try again. Keep going until you have found all the pairs.

HIGHER OR LOWER-Lay 6 cards face down in a row. Turn the first card over, do you think the next number you turn over will be higher or lower? If you are wrong, you must start again.

FASTEST FINGERS FIRST- Working with someone in your family, challenge one another to see who can put their cards in the correct order first?

Literacy

Look at the missing red word worksheet below. With your grown-up’s help, read each sentence and decide which red word is missing. Remember, a red word cannot be sounded out, so we have been practising recognising a variety of red words in class. You can write your answers on a piece of paper, please email a photo of your work.

EAD

Continuing our focus on the work of doctors, visit the web address below to watch a clip to help you identify the different places a doctor might work. There is a creative challenge to make a hospital using resources from around your home. You will be able to play with your finished model, perhaps to look after one of your poorly teddies.

Well done everyone for completing your first week of home learning. You have done so well, and we are very proud of all of you. Please keep trying your best and sending your work via email.

We hope you have a safe, restful weekend,

Mrs Miskin & Mrs Sullivan
