LO: to multiply fractions by whole numbers where the product is an improper fraction or mixed number

 

Today’s lesson is a continuation of yesterday’s where you learnt how to multiply fractions.  Use the skills and methods you learnt yesterday to help you with today’s work.  Watch my video lesson again if you need a reminder.  You don’t need to complete the In Focus question today, but as always work your way competently through the lesson making sure that you have solid understanding of how to multiply fractions.  You will need to convert your answers as they will be improper and your answers should be as mixed fractions.  Answer the workbook questions and then have a go at the challenge.   Please email me your work today.

 

ENGLISH/GRAMMAR

LO: to understand and use modal verbs

 

Today, you will be consolidating your knowledge of modal verbs.  Your work is again based on the story of Eric.   You will need to open the link which takes you through the lesson   All the instructions for today’s lesson will be on the first sheet.  Your tasks for the lesson will follow on (all on one document).  You main task today will be to answer these questions:

 

  1. Why do you think the family decided to have a foreign exchange student?
  2. Where do you think Eric has come from?
  3. How do you think the narrator feels about Eric?

 

The worksheets have given you two example answers for each question and then you will need to have a go at answering them yourself with your own thoughts about the story, whilst remembering to include modal verbs.

The Curious Case of Dr Salamander – Chapter Two

 

If you haven’t read the first chapter, you will need to catch up before starting today’s lesson.

Today, I would like you to read chapter two of The Curious Case of Dr Salamander, cast your vote as to what will happen next and complete the quiz.  Your task today is to answer these questions (reading domain 2d: make inferences from the text/explain and justify inferences with evidence from the text).

  1. What do you think has happened to the pets?
  2. What clues make you think this?
  3. How might the key be important?

This week, Mr Ashby’s PE lesson is Go Noodle!  Please use the link to access the website.  Choose different exercises and dances and really give yourself a workout.  Don’t be lonely – ask a sibling or adult to join with you to make it more fun!

Dreams and Goals

 

This week, Mrs Entwistle wants you to think about your dreams and goals for the end of this school year.  She wants you to think about what you would like to achieve in this current year group.  It must be something in school (moving up a reading level, knowing your times tables etc).  Design a poster to show how you are going to achieve this.  Use these three separate headings to help you.
