Maths:
L.O: to measure volume in ml
Today we are going to start a new chapter in our Maths No Problem books all about volume and capacity.
To start with answer your ‘In Focus’ question which is on the first page. As we would normally discuss this with our partners at school, see if there is an adult or older brother or sister to talk to about it. Please use the box on this page record your answer and methods.
Next look at the ‘Guided Practice’ which shows you some of the different style questions. I have left the answers on the worksheet so you can see the setting out and how to go about answering these types of questions.
Now it is your turn! Have a go at the ‘Independent Practice’ which is a copy of the worksheet that you would have completed in your MNP workbooks at school.
If you feel up for it, have a go at the challenge! Good luck!

English:
L.O: to compose sentences
Today we will be continuing thinking about Robert and Nita’s big day out. Yesterday you had a go at writing the opening to this new chapter in the story. Today we are going to be thinking about what Robert and Nita might do on their day out.
Start off by looking at the slides. These will give you some ideas about where they could go and how we could make the story more interesting by having something go wrong. On the slides you will see my version of what might happen. Next week will be writing this up as a story, so for now this can just be in notes form.
For your activity today, use the worksheet to come up with your idea for a new episode. Look at the different headings and prompts and step by step write out your story plan.
Please could you email this piece of work to me.
Spelling:
L.O: to investigate the present tense suffix ‘ing’
Follow the link to the second online Oak Academy spelling lesson with Miss Madden. She goes through some important key vocabulary and sounds to begin with. She then shows you some examples of how to turn verbs into the present tense and the rules that you need to remember. Remember to pause the video when she asks you to so you can write out the answers.
