Three tasks to send in today: English, Reading and Maths.  Remember to send in all parts of the task and read the tasks and questions carefully.

Keep watching the reading videos that I am uploading as there will be a task base upon these stories next week.  All of the links to the You Tube videos have been sent through Marvellous Me, so if you haven't seen them yet, ask your parent/carer for the link. Don't forget to'like' them!

9:00 – 10:00 English (SEND IN)

LO: To write a diary (Part 2)

If you have not completed the lessons in order since last Thursday - go back to that lesson and work through otherwise today's learning won't make sense.  This is the last lesson in this mini 'unit' of diary writing.  In this lesson, you will be writing the next three parts of the film clip as a diary.

Task:

  1. Re-watch yesterday’s lesson to remind you of the task.
  2. Use the attached worksheet to help you write the last three parts of your diary.

As above, but use the worksheet below.

10:00 – 10:45 Reading (SEND IN)

LO: To analyse a setting.  (Holes)

This is lesson 2 of 5.  If you heaven't completed yesterdays lesson, go back and complete that first. Today you will analyse the setting using your inference and retrieval skills.  Use the worksheet provided to help guide you through the mini-tasks throughout the lesson.

11:00 – 12:00 Maths (SEND IN)

LO:  Solve problems involving the relative size of two quantities (Part 1).

In this lesson you will be solving problems involving the relative size of two quantities.

Task:

  1. Follow the main teaching in the video.  Make sure you pause the video when prompted to complete the questions throughout.  See the worksheet attached where I have copied each task into a Word document that you can type straight onto, under the heading ‘guided practice’.
  2. Complete the independent task on the worksheet, then mark your own work after you have completed the task: the teacher goes through the answers with you in the video.
  3. Finally, complete the exit quiz.

LO: Ordering Decimals

 Task:

  1. Have a go at the intro quiz.
  2. Watch the video and work through the lesson, where you will order decimal numbers with up to two decimal places.
  3. Complete the ‘independent practise’ by ordering the decimal numbers.  Write them down on paper with the correct symbols inbetween them.  Check your answers as the teacher shows you.
  4. Have a go at the exit quiz.

1:00 – 2:00 DT

LO: To explore sauces and side dishes for burgers.

In this lesson you will be thinking about the layers within a burger, as well as the sauces.  Alongside this, you will consider all the different options that you could have as a ‘side’ with a burger – there are more than you think!

Task:

  1. Read through the lesson slideshow.  Why not discuss your ideas and thoughts with an adult.
  2. Make one of the sauces and taste it!  What do you think?  You could use bread or carrot sticks to dip in the sauce to try them.

An alternative:

Create a burger menu.  Include the burger patty, sauce, fillings and a side on your menu, along with a description and discount coupon.  Use the burger ingredients chart and menu template to help you.  Draw a picture of your burger on the foldable menu template also.

2:00 – 3:00 MUSIC

LO:  Exploring 3 beats in a bar.

In this lesson, you will explore music with 3 beats in a bar.  You will need a plastic cup or beaker within the lesson.  Enjoy!  He is definitely my favourite Oak Academy teacher.
