Today please could you email me your Reading and Art/DT work.

Good morning everyone I hope you are all well and staying safe at home. We are back to remote learning this week but will soon be back together next Monday. You all did amazingly over lockdown, so remember to keep working hard, keep your brain busy and email anything across to year3@leigh.covmat.org

As I’m sure many of you know, last night was the final of the European football championship. English versus Italy. To celebrate England reaching the final of the Euros, todays activities are football themed!

Maths:

Have a go at the football themed code breaker to solve the subtraction questions and work out the hidden football themed word. Don’t forget to use column subtraction to help you solve the more difficult problems.

English:

For your task today, I would like you to complete a fact file on one of the England players selected for the Euros. You will need to research the player and find out the answers to the information on the worksheet below.

Reading:

Please read for 10 minutes one of your reading books, this can be a school book or a book you already have at home. Remember we still have access to Oxford Owl if you would like to read any books on there.

Last week we finished reading out whole class reading book ‘Grandpa’s Great Escape’ by David Walliams. Today I would like you to write a book review to let me know what you thought about the story. I have attached some different book review templates that you may want to use to help you, or you could come up with your own. Please could you email this to me once you are finished.

Afternoon:

Geography:

Have a look at the European flags worksheet and write the name of the country under the flag. If you are up for an extra challenge, see if you can find out the capital city of that country and write it on the second line.

Art and DT:

Make some different England flags out of different materials or objects you have around the house. Take photographs of these and email them too me. See my examples below.
