Week Beginning 5th June 2023

This week we have been settling back into Nursery after the half-term holiday and talking about what we did over the half-term break.

Our topic this term is 'Under The Sea' and we discussed some of the things we'd like to learn about. Lots of children want to learn about sharks!

We remembered all the Read Write Inc letter sounds we learnt last half term and have learnt some new ones this week!

So far we have learnt m, a, s, d, t and i.

In this activity we had to pick a picture out of the bag and match it to the correct initial sound…

On Thursday Mrs Cole brought in baby Alex for us to meet! We have been learning about babies and how we grow and change in PSHE so we had lots of questions for Mrs Cole! Alex has just learnt to walk and enjoyed exploring Nursery. We were all very kind and gentle with him.

We had lots of fun at Forest School this week. We made an obstacle course through the woods and did some super balancing on it!

We have been learning how to count objects carefully.  Miss Haslam explained that to make sure we don't make any mistakes we should put the objects in a line then touch each one as we count. We counted slowly and carefully and made sure we said each number as we touched the object. This is called one-to-one correspondence.  In Nursery we are expected to be able to do this up to 5 but some of us can count up to 10 objects and beyond! Miss Haslam is very proud.

Thomas brought in something very special to show us this week - he won a trophy! Over half-term Thomas attended football camp and got a trophy for improvement, hard work and teamwork. His mummies were very proud of him and so were we! We all gave him a big clap! Well done Thomas!

Take a look at some of the Busy Learning we have been doing this week…
