LO: To be able to divide 3 digit numbers
In math today, we are going to be dividing 3-digit numbers! Try and remember what dividing means - it means putting a big number into groups or sharing. For example, for 88 ÷ 8, you would put 88 into 8 groups, and count how many were in each group, receiving the answer of 11.
Have a look at the in-focus question. How do you think you could work it out? As you would usually do this in your pairs, see if you can talk to an adult or an older sibling about your thoughts. Use the empty box to explain your thoughts.
Next, have a look at the guided practice. Can you work out how those answers were gained? Have a go at working them out yourselves to see if your method is correct.
Finally, have a go at the worksheet provided - it is 2 sheets, the minimum expectation is one sheet, but just like in class, try and have a go at the second one too!
Reading
LO: To answer questions on the text
This week, we are going to be reading the book ‘The curse of castle Drago.’
Today, you are going to read chapter 2 and then complete the online quiz. I will be able to see if you have done this activity so there is no need to send me your quiz results!
You each have your own log in which I will be sending to your adults to give to you. I will send it via marvellous me – if it doesn’t come through please email me at year4@leigh.covmat.org and I will send it to you there!
We had 19 people read the chapter yesterday - keep pushing yourself and keep reading!
English
LO: To write the order of a story
Have another read of the narrative verse – find the part that tells you about the Trolls love for music, singing and making up songs, this has given me an idea for a new story about the characters!
I have written some bare bonds of my new story – have a look at them below!
Unfortunately, I have put my notes in the wrong order! Your task today is to write them into the correct order and add more detail so it shows how you want the story to go! For example, something goes wrong – what do you think will go wrong? Maybe a dinosaur sits on their guitar and it breaks! Remember, your story needs to start from the point where the band were asked to perform.
RE
LO: To explain how to have a happy life.
Today we are going to think about how to have a happy life.
First, I would like to write 3 things that make you happy.
Next, list 3 things that make your family happy.
Finally, list 3 things that would make the world incredibly happy.
Christians believe that Jesus’ words and actions give you an idea of how to live. You should live by:
- Loving god
- Loving other people
- Being gentle and kind
- Being fair, working to make sure others are treated justly
- Forgiving when people hurt and upset us
- Being good peacemakers – helping people and nations make friends
Have you ever followed any of these Christian rules to a happy life? I would like you to write about a time you have used one of these rules.
French
In French we are going to be looking at how to say and read different animals in French.
First, have a look at this quizlet game to revise what you remember from last week.
Next, play this game where you have to touch the animal that is being said by the native speaker.
