Maths

LO: To be able to read picture graphs and bar graphs

Today we are officially leaving our old chapter behind and starting a new one - we're now moving onto graphs! I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the in focus question - which graph would you use?

Have a look through the guided practice. 

On the first page of the guided practice, the graph it asks you to compare it to is on the next page.

The cupcakes are being counted in 10's - remember that you can go up in numbers other than 1 during this chapter, it will come in useful!

Have a go at the work - it is 2 pages and your minimum to complete today is 1 page. PLEASE remember to use a ruler when you are drawing on the graph! 

Reading

LO: To write a book review

This week, we are going to be reading the book ‘Wings.’ I have had some really good feedback about this book and you seem to be enjoying it. 

Today, you are going to read chapter 5 and then write a book review. If you have read all 5 chapters, this becomes an option to do online and therefore you would not have to send me a picture of it. If it is easier for you, you can instead write one out and send me a picture of it too. 

You each have your own log in which I will be sending to your adults to give to you. I will send it via marvellous me – if it doesn’t come through please email me at year4@leigh.covmat.org and I will send it to you there!

I'm aware some people are having difficulties with sending the email via fiction express. If you experience this, please email me the review.

LO: To apply knowledge of the suffixes -ate and -en

Today we are going to be continuing to practice our knowledge of the suffixes -ate and -en. If you did not join in with yesterdays lesson, you will need to go back and watch that video too!

Science

LO: How are different sounds produced?

Today, we will be continuing using oak academy for our science lessons. Please do the quiz, follow the lesson with Miss Roberts, and then finish up with the ending quiz!

Wellbeing Afternoon:

At school, we have decided to have Friday afternoon as a relax time. Before you do this, have a look at the past week - are there any lessons you've missed that you could finish off today.

 

Take some time to relax and enjoy time at home. You may want to do some colouring, jigsaws, play a game, read a book or watch a movie. Also, the children in school wanted me to say hello! We're missing seeing all of you in the classroom!
