Doubling- this week we will be working on doubling numbers. Doubling means the same again, if you have 2 cars and you double them, you must add another 2. Today I would like you to play a game of snap. You might have a snap card game already. If not, you can use the number cards that you made before or you could print or copy a set of snap cards below. Doubling, the same again is like finding a matching pair. Enjoy your game of snap-remember, you need to take turns turning one card over at a time until you see two cards that are the same, then you can shout ‘SNAP!’ SEND IN

Today is St David’s Day, a special day celebrated by people from Wales. We enjoy learning about the traditions and beliefs honoured by ourselves and others, as this creates a respect for one another’s differences. It is also a great way to recognise and celebrate the rich diversity of our community. You can find out more about this celebration using the PPT below. There is a craft activity to make a bunch of daffodils too, but you could draw some if you prefer.

Target practise-Using some scrunched up foil or tissue and an empty box as your target, stand back and carefully throw. Can you get your ‘ball’ into the target? If you find it tricky, stand a bit closer, if you find in easy, stand further away. Try throwing underarm and then overarm-your grownup will show you how. Can you reach the target using your other arm? Keep count to see how many times you get it into the box before missing.
