Week Beginning 26th February 2024

This week we have been learning all about Spring! We talked about the four seasons and learnt about the signs of Spring and things we might see in the Spring time.

We did lots of Spring-related activities during Busy Learning time this week, including making some beautiful blossom trees using our fingerprints and tissue paper.

We made some playdough daffodils. We looked carefully at some real daffodils and photos of daffodils and tried to include all the details we saw in our playdough creations, including using orange and yellow buttons for the middle of the daffodils, green pipe cleaners for the stems and green beads for the leaves.

We went on a Spring scavenger hunt! Miss Haslam and Miss Bennett had hidden some photos of things we see in the Spring time around Nursery and we had to find them all and cross them off our list when we found them. We had lots of fun finding all the pictures! Hopefully when the weather is better we can go for a Spring walk outside and look for real signs of Spring!

In PSHE with Mrs Entwistle this week we talked about healthy eating and designed a healthy lunchbox. In PE with Mr Price we used the hoops to practise a range of different skills.

On Friday it was St David's Day! We learnt about how it is celebrated in Wales, made some St. David's Day daffodils, created some Welsh dragons using our handprints and tried some traditional Welsh dancing!
