Chapter 20

Please return your Maths, English and Comprehension today.

Maths

Miss Thomas’s group – Just a short task today as we are coming to the end of our topic.  Tomorrow will be our pictogram review.  All the instructions and tasks are on the same sheet today.

Mrs Malone’s group – read through the learning page and then complete the worksheet

English

Miss Thomas’s group – Follow the English learning and instructions and then complete the tasks.  When doing the written task, you can either print out the sheet to work on or you can delete the lines and then type in your diary entry.  If you are using plain paper, ask an adult to draw you some straight lines for your writing.  It will help you to keep everything neat and tidy.

Mrs Malone’s group – read through the instruction sheet and complete the tasks

Theme - Let's go to the Arctic.

Let’s go to the arctic – week 6.  Something slightly different today.  I thought we would view this geography lesson from the Oak Academy website.

  1. Click on the link below

  2. Click on start lesson.  This lesson starts with a quiz.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t know the answers as it is just seeing what you do or do not know.  After watching the video, complete the ‘ending’ quiz.  Be ready to stop and start the video when you have to do the tasks.

Comprehension

I have chosen some comprehension today linked with diary writing as that is what my group have been looking at in our English lessons.

I have found some work about a very famous diary writer.  You all might remember him from our Great Fire of London work……Samuel Pepys.  He was the man who wore posh clothes and a big wig and worked with the King to sort out London after the fire.  As you know he was a great diary writer.  There are two levels of work.  There is a set for Mrs Malone’s group and a set for mine.  Read the text carefully through several times and then answer the questions.  Please use full sentences if that is needed.

If you do not want to print out the answer sheet, please do answer them on a separate sheet of paper.

Daily Reading

Although we are not able to change your books at school every day, you do need to practice your reading skills.  Make time to do 10 minutes of reading with your adults before the end of the day.  I am sure you have plenty of books on your bookshelves.  Let me know if you read any really exciting ones that you think I might like!!
