Theme

Today we are having a look at a specific type of Arctic house, an igloo.  Have a look at the information about the native arctic people and the lives they live in the north.  Have a go at building your own igloo.

Take a picture when you have finished, so I can see how spectacular they are.

Art

It has been great to see your Arctic landscapes build up over the last few weeks.  Some of them are absolutely stunning.  It would be good to see some of them completed in the classroom when we finally get back to school.

This week – what do we need to add?  Last week it was physical features.  Objects that are formed naturally by the earth.  This week we have looked at human made features.  Although there is lots of snow and ice in the north, there are still towns and cities.  Have another look at the photos of the cities from yesterday.  Can you manage to add one into your landscape?  Are the houses going to be multicoloured like they are in Sisimiut?

Daily Reading

Although we are not able to change your books at school every day, you do need to practice your reading skills.  Make time to do 10 minutes of reading with your adults before the end of the day.  I am sure you have plenty of books on your bookshelves.  Let me know if you read any really exciting ones that you think I might like!!
