Maths

Following on from yesterday, we will continue to compare groups. The PDF below will show groups containing the same type of item, but they differ in some way e.g. large teddies & small teddies. Again, you are to talk about each picture, highlighting similarities and differences. Using two 10 frames and your counters (pennies, buttons…) show the quantities for each picture. If the are 3 big teddies and 4 small teddies, your 10 frames will look like this. SEND IN

EAD

This week we will be sharing the story of The Giant Turnip. You might have heard this story called The Great Big Turnip or The Enormous Turnip. There are two links below, one is from Oak Academy where you will see the teacher tell the story and help you to make a story map. The other link is an animation of the story with a song you can join in with. You may choose to use one or the other, or both! Use these links to familiarise yourself with the story. More tasks using this story to come over the next few days.

Literacy

This week we are exploring the role of an engineer. Use the link below to watch the video, this will help you to understand what an engineer does. There is an important task for you at the end of the video, to help a doll that is stuck on top of a tall building. You need to design something to help her get down safely. Perhaps you will design a hot-air balloon, or a flying carpet…You can let your imaginations flow! Label the parts of your design to help me understand your drawing better. SEND IN
