Maths
Miss Thomas's group - This morning we are going to continue with measuring. You will need to have a ruler to help you.
Mrs Malone's group - This morning you are going to be working on language that explains where people are positioned. You might like to get your family to help you by lining up or having a race and then you can tell them which position they finished in.
How to...
Open the 'Let's Learn' document and read through the information. You can tell the answers to the questions asked to your adult. When you have worked through the learning section, have a go at the worksheets that go with the lesson.
These worksheets need to be returned by the end of the day please.
English
Miss Thomas's group - We are starting a new topic all about traditional tales. To start us off we are going to be looking at 'Billy Monster's Daymare'. I have attached copies of the pages of the book for your to read. Try reading as much of it yourself as possible. Ask an adult for help if you get stuck.
Answer the questions on the attached sheet. I would like everyone to answer 6 questions at least. If you want to do more, that would be brilliant.
When you are answering the questions I would like you to answer them in complete sentences. Remember your full stops and capital letters. After writing your answer, make sure you reread it, to check that it makes sense.
I would like your answer sheet returned please.
Mrs Malone's group - You are going to be using the green book called 'The Spell' for the rest of the week. As we can't get copies to you we have scanned in the pages and you will find a link below. Today I would like you to...
- Go through speed sounds (page 4)
- Go through the green and red word (page 5)
-
Look through the vocabulary check and find out what the sounds mean
-
Read the book
It may not seem like a lot of work, but you know that Mrs Malone gets you to practice your sounds and words over and over again to make sure you are really confident. There is no written work for you today, so spend this time becoming really confident with the book. See how many people you can read it to today.
Theme - Let's go to the Arctic
We are going to be starting our new topic about the Arctic.
Have a look through the slide show attached and talk to your adults about what you can see and what you have learned.
Then complete the map of the world activity.
Please send back this completed activity
RE
Who made the world?
Think about all the things that are around you. Think of all the things that you are grateful for. Where did they come from? Who made them? Some of the things that you have were made in a factory or by an engineer or a builder. But there are somethings in your life that were not. Can you think of some? Where did these come from?
Activity
Create a poster of all the things that you can think of that were not made by a human or in a factory. Somewhere on your poster show where those things came from. You can create this in anyway you want, crayons, felt tips, paints. But remember the standards that we have in the classroom. Show me that you can do your best.
You do not need to send this to me, but if you are really proud of your thinking and the poster that you have created, please do email me a copy. I would love to see them.
Daily Reading
Although we are not able to change your books at school every day, you do need to practice your reading skills. Make time to do 10 minutes of reading with your adults before the end of the day. I am sure you have plenty of books on your book shelves. Let me know if you read any really exciting ones that you think I might like!!
