Science
In science will be covering:
- Circuits and conductors
- What do scientists do?
Within ‘Circuits and Conductors’, we:
To investigate circuits and their different components
To investigate the difference between mains and battery-powered electricity
To recognise some common conductors and insulators, and associate metals with being good conductors
To investigate the purposes of conducting and insulating materials.
To be able to use knowledge of circuits and conductors to create switches to create a circuit
To be able to plan and carry out an experiment to see how to change the brightness of a bulb
Within ‘What do Scientists do?’, we:
- To identify the steps involved in the scientific method
- To generate suitable enquiry questions and make careful observations
- To plan and conduct a comparative fair test
- To draw conclusions from careful observations
- To create a hypothesis and plan an investigation to answer an enquiry question
- To conduct a practical experiment, record findings in a table and draw conclusions from data
