3rd February

Please send in your maths, English and DT work today. Officially half way through the week!

Maths

LO: To be able to draw and read line graphs

Today we are going to be continuing with our lessons on line graphs. I was very impressed with the work I received yesterday - although it was the first time we had covered line graphs, you rose to the challenge and I was very proud!

Your guided practice questions are based on the in focus question, so see if you can work out how the answers were achieved!

Today you have THREE sheets to do for maths. I know you are going to rise to the challenge and continue to USE A RULER to do the best that you can!

To clarify at the start of the worksheet, the big number at the top is 100ml. There are 9 little lines underneath...I wonder what each of those little lines are worth...

Reading

LO: To answer questions on the text

This week, we are going to be reading the book ‘My Gran is a werewolf.’

Today, you are going to read chapter 3 and then complete the online quiz. I will be able to see if you have done this activity!

You each have your own log in which I will be sending to your adults to give to you. I will send it via marvellous me – if it doesn’t come through please email me at year4@leigh.covmat.org and I will send it to you there!

English

LO: To write a letter

Yesterday, you made your plan for a letter to a stage school – today you are going to write that letter! Remember, if you want to impress the stage school, you need to use your neatest handwriting. Follow the plan you created and you should ace today’s English work!

Multiplication practice

This week we are going to be focusing on our 11 times tables! First, try and write out your elevens. If you struggle with this, just remember, add 10, and add 1! Then have a go at doing the sheet!

DT

LO: To reflect on the impact inventions have on our lives

Today is our last day of DT lessons in this module (don’t worry, there will be an activity next week too)! Please have a read through the slides attached.

In those slides you have a look at some more British inventions: the vacuum flask, the hovercraft, the television and cloning. I would like you to create a poster, answering these questions:

  • Which of these inventions is the most impressive? Why?
  • Which of these inventions is the least impressive? Why?
  • Which of these inventions has the biggest impact on your life? Why?
  • Which of these inventions has the smallest impact on your life? Why?
  • Which of these inventions would you like to find out more about?

Don't fancy doing a poster? That's fine! As long as you answer those questions in some way, that's the important thing!
