Today you need to return just your maths and English work.

Maths

Miss Thomas’s group – we have now come to the end of the chapter about length.  As usual we have to complete our ‘end of unit assessment’.  This is today’s task. 

Adults – please let your child complete this activity by themselves.  You can read them the question, but they need to work out what to do and do it by themselves.  All the questions are based on the work we have done in the last 8 lessons.  If they cannot do a question, encourage them to move on and try others and then come back to it at the end when they have had chance to think more.

Mrs Malone’s group – Before starting your work, practice counting forward and backwards to 20.  Try starting at a number that your adults give you.

English

Miss Thomas’s group – Follow the instruction sheet to work through so that you can build up knowledge to help you with the tasks at the end of the lesson.  Then complete the activities and return them please.

  • Go through speed sounds (page 4)

  • Go through the green and red word (page 5)

  • Look through the vocabulary check and find out what the sounds mean

  • Read the book faster and more fluently

• Proofread the sentence on the worksheet

• Check your answers

• Parents and children use the questions on Page 14 to talk about the book.

Catch Up Afternoon

This is a little bit of breathing space for you to have a go at some of the activities that you might have missed during the week.

If you have had a really great week and have completed everything already, then I am really proud of you.  Keep it up!

Take this time to do something that you want to do. if you do want to do something that is linked to school, you can do your daily reading or go on Times Table Rock Stars.  Try the website ‘Hit the button’.  This is a site that test the speed of your maths knowledge.
