Today we are going to do our special Mind Workout and Maths Journal challenges.  

 

Mind Workout

Study the pattern drawn by Ravi and fill in the missing picture to complete the pattern. You need to explain the rule that Ravi used to make the pattern.

 

Maths Journal

Cut a square, rectangle, triangle and circle into 2 pieces, mix the pieces up, then put the pieces back together to make the original shapes. Paste the pieces in their journal and name the shapes made.  I have made a shape sheet to help.

We are now revising RWI Set 2 and so you will need to follow this link every day for the daily phonics session which is available from 9.30 am.  Each day the phonics session comprises of two separate videos. There is a speed sounds lesson video and a spelling lesson video. You need to complete both sections.  I  have used a screenshot to clarify this

LO: To edit and improve writing.

 

In today’s lesson, you will edit and improve your story, thinking carefully about how you can make your writing easier to read and more interesting for your intended audience. We are going to learn about synonyms. A synonym is a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word.

Task: Record  your improved sentences on the worksheet and make corrections to punctuation on your  piece of story writing  

 

Challenge:You will find the challenge sheet attached to the edit sheet. Can you find synonyms for the words? Use the synonyms sheet to help you.
