Theme

Our theme this term is ‘Civilisations’.  Please see the Theme Learning Map below, which details an overview of key learning and vocabulary, as well as ideas to extend your child’s learning at home.

In History this term, we have been learning about our earliest settlers, from the stone age to the iron age. As part of this, we took a close look at Stonehenge and questioned why it was built. We then had a go at remaking Stonehenge ourselves! 

We also went on a class trip to Compton Verney Gallery and Outdoor learning centre for a stone age settlement experience. The children learnt how to light a fire, wattle and daub, cave paintings, make dough and to build a house for the night. They really enjoyed this trip!
